Celebrate the festival finale with a special outdoor screening of Brassed Off, brought vividly to life with a live score from the world-renowned Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Returning to Halifax 30 years after the film was shot here, this is a homecoming moment brimming with Yorkshire pride.
The evening also includes a special live set from Grimethorpe, performing highlights from their award-winning repertoire before the screening begins.

About the film:
Released in 1996, this bittersweet comedy-drama from Mark Herman follows Danny, played by Pete Postlethwaite, the devoted leader of the Grimley Colliery Band, determined to prove “we are not defeated.” Featuring standout performances from Ewan McGregor, Stephen Tompkinson and Tara Fitzgerald, it’s a powerful story of resilience, community and pride.
